Premier and R2 Technology ink group purchasing agreement

R2 Technology Inc. and Premier Inc. have signed a sole-source group purchasing agreement for R2's CAD (computer aided detection) products for mammography.

The preferred pricing pact is effective through July 30.

Available products include the Image Checker DM system for facilities with high patient volumes; the ImageChecker DX system for medium volume groups, and the ImageChecker LX system for lower volume mammography practices.

R2's CAD offerings are designed to detect findings that may be overlooked during the review process, helping a radiologist to increase cancer detection. CAD technology also is especially effective in identifying calcifications, some of which can be cancerous.
