QuadraMed closes on acquisition of Detente Systems

QuadraMed Corp. on Feb. 6 completed its acquisition of Detente Systems Pty Ltd. for $4 million in cash.

Detente, based in Australia, received $2.6 million at the closing. The remaining $1.4 million has been escrowed and is payable upon Detente's satisfactory adaptation of its product for the U.S. market. The companies expect that work will be done by the end of the third quarter.

Detente's products include the Omni-Lab laboratory systems, an information technology solution for hospital-based and freestanding laboratories; and Omni-Image radiology systems, an information technology system for medical imaging departments.

Detente's customer base includes hospitals in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
