Rads, techs gain online reference, education tool

Elsevier, a publisher of science and health information, has released Mosby’s Imaging Suite, an integrated, web-based reference and education tool.

The new suite is an online, searchable edition of “Merrill’s Atlas of Radiographic Position and Procedures.” The new suite provides complex projection and position information with color photos and radiographs of desired outcomes, which will help reduce the number of errors due to poor or inaccurate positioning, the publisher said.

Mosby’s Imaging Suite delivers continuing education, providing technologists with access to more than 70 Category-A CE credits and an announcement system to create, post and update department protocols. The education component can be customized to build skills and conduct testing to any organization's requirements or the requirements of compliance and regulatory organizations, including the Joint Commission.

The ability to build a comprehensive set of institution- and physician-specific protocols allows staff to verify protocols for any series of projections and procedures at any time, according to Elsevier.

The new technology shows early potential to make a significant impact on imaging workflows and patient care.
