Roper to purchase Verathon

Research and medical applications provider Roper Industries has signed an agreement to purchase Verathon, a medical device and service provider, as part of a combined transaction totaling $356 million.

Bothell, Wash.-based Verathon develops diagnostic ultrasound tools, such as the noninvasive BladderScan and GoldeScope Video Laryngoscope products, to help physicians diagnose common bladder disorders. According to Sarasota, Fla.-based Roper, the transaction is expected be completed in December.

Roper engineers products for the energy, water and radiofrequency markets.
