RSNA: Viztek highlights PACS upgrades

Viztek (Booth #9136) is introducing a range of new features to its family of Opal-RAD Web-based PACS at the 2009 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) meeting.

New at this year’s conference is a display-management feature that learns a user's preferences and presents exams accordingly without the setup processes, according to the Raleigh, N.C.-based company. The PACS also learns defaults within the standard displays for such factors as anatomic region and study description. These preferences also may be set manually.

Also debuting at RSNA is an patient identifier feature that will eliminate complications caused by duplicate patient ID numbers assigned to different patients imaged in different facilities, Viztek said.
