SBI, Oxford University Press to publish new Journal of Breast Imaging

On Wednesday, Oct. 10, the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) and Oxford University Press (OUP) announced a partnership to publish the first peer-reviewed journal dedicated to breast imaging—the Journal of Breast Imaging (JBI).

According to an SBI news release, the publication will provide “high quality, evidence-based” material for breast imaging medical communities across the world. Particular attention will be paid to improving patient care and outcomes in an effort to advance the field.

Jennifer A. Harvey, MD, will serve as the editor-in-chief of the new publication.

“It’s an honor to oversee the launch of JBI,” Harvey said in the statement. “The journal will provide a focused platform to disseminate scholarly work, as well as practical articles on breast cancer screening, clinical practice aspects of breast imaging, and educational opportunities, with the goal of advancing the global field of breast imaging for the betterment of patient care.”
