Siemens acquires CADVision Medical Technologies

Siemens Medical Solutions has acquired CADVision Medical Technologies of Jerusalem, Israel, strengthening its competitive position in the area of computer-aided detection and diagnosis (CAD) and enhancing its oncology product portfolio.

The technology is based on patented algorithms that enable the detection of breast lesions in combination with advanced classification capabilities.

CADVision's technology is currently undergoing clinical validation.

Siemens said it is in the process of developing CAD technologies for several imaging applications across multiple modalities, and expects this acquisition to further strengthen its CAD product portfolio.
