Siemens gets FDA clearance for mobile x-ray units

Siemens Medical Solutions USA Inc. has received FDA clearance for its Mobilett and Mobilett XP Hybrid x-ray systems in the United States.

The mobile units boast compact size and a lightweight construction for maneuverability while maintaining optimum imaging quality. The self-calibrating platform's high radiographic output, up to 30 kilowatts and 360 milliampere-seconds, enables short exposure times. Both devices can be positioned for imaging in a variety of projections, including recumbent and sitting.

Siemens will display the mobile units at next week's Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiologic Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago.
