Siemens lands DR install in U.K.

Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend, in Wales, U.K., has installed the Ysio wi-D direct Digital Radiography (DR) system from Siemens Healthcare for use within the emergency department.

The DR system-which replaces a previous computed radiography (CR) system at the hospital-offers a wireless detector, said Malvern, Penn.-based Siemens.
The system will be used in the evaluation of patients who have suffered major trauma injuries, said the company.
