Siemens to launch mobile x-ray unit at RSNA 2004

Siemens Medical Solutions is introducing the Mobilett XP Digital x-ray system with flat panel detector technology at the Radiological Society of North America meeting, Nov. 28 - Dec. 2, in Chicago.

The mobile x-ray system features a flat panel detector at 43cm by 35cm for enhanced viewing, and can store up to 3,000 images in the internal image memory. Additionally, the system offers a touch screen with an easy-to-use, intuitive user interface, Siemens said.

The Mobilett XP Digital offers the ability to transmit image data through wireless access or a cable to the hospital's information system for archiving and documentation. Its DICOM-structured networking function facilitates patient registration, image transmission and exposure printing. The system also eliminates the need for manual film processing and cassette handling and storage, Siemens said.
