Siemens rolls out new ultrasound system at ACOG
Siemens Medical Solutions introduced the newest addition to its line of ultrasound systems at the 52nd annual clinical meeting of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) in Philadelphia.
The all-digital Sonoline G20 ultrasound imaging system is a compact, light weight device that combines excellent image quality, workflow enhancements and user-matched ergonomics.
Features of the G20 system include: grayscale imaging; TGO (tissue grayscale optimization) technology for one-button, automatic optimization of imaging parameters; MultiHertz multiple frequency imaging; DIMAQ-IP integrated workstation with built-in CD-R/W drive for cost-effective output and archiving of exam data; and software upgradeability.
Siemens says the G20 ultrasound system will begin shipping this month.
Siemens also unveiled the inMotion software upgrade for its Sonoline G50 and G60 S ultrasound systems.
A key feature in the inMotion upgrade is fourSight ultrasound 4D imaging technology, including the C6F3 fourSight 4D transducer, and for the G50 system only, the EV8F5 fourSight 4D transducer. This new feature, which allows accurate size information to be acquired in 3D, includes a measurement tool for 3D imaging, so that distance and area measurements can be obtained for quantification in Multi-Planar Reformatting (MPR) and volume images.
In addition, other transducers now available with the upgrade are the BE9-4 bi-plane endorectal transducer and the VF13-5SP transducer for specialty applications, such as vascular surgery applications, including carotid endarterectomies, and superficial vascular imaging, such as venous mapping.
The upgrade also begins shipping this month.
