Smith joins Allocade as president, CEO

Allocade, a developer of healthcare informatics solutions, has appointed Rick Smith as its president and CEO.

Smith, who brings more than 25 years of experience in global sales and marketing for healthcare companies, will also serve on company’s board of directors, the company said.

Prior to joining the Menlo Park, Calif.-based Allocade, Smith spent more than 14 years serving in various senior management positions at both Siemens Medical Systems and Acuson. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of global sales and marketing for the ultrasound business group at Siemens; he served in the same position at Acuson.

Previously, he spent more than 10 years at Toshiba Medical Systems in a variety of senior management positions, according to Allocade.
