Sorna adds automated encryption to CD/DVD publishing systems
Sorna has added automated password encryption to the latest version of eXpedo, the operating software for its automated DICOM CD/DVD publishing systems.
Sorna said its eXpedo 2.7 utilizes the Advanced Encryption Standard algorithm to create password-protected media, offering the choice of assigning a password to each DICOM CD or DVD created, or assigning a single password to each recipient in its database. When a password is designated for a user, eXpedo associates the CD/DVD designee with its assigned password, and encrypts the content of the disc.
The firm's Reviewer Admin product also adds this encryption functionality in version 1.6, Sorna said.
The Eagan, Minn.-based company said that Philips iSite PACS customers can now add an eXpedo client plug-in to their workstation, which provides them with an interface to the eXpedo CD/DVD publishing system Version 2.5. The applet allows the creation of CDs and DVDs, as well as the monitoring their status, from an iSite workstation.
