Spectrum Health installs Toshiba ultrasound

Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Mich., has installed the Aplio 500 ultrasound system from Toshiba America Medical Systems.

According to Tustin, Calif.-based Toshiba, Aplio 500 offers advanced visualization capabilities, workflow automation tools, ergonomics and Fly Thru and Smart Fusion technologies. It also enables gray-scale imaging.

Fly Thru technology uses 4D ultrasound to “fly through” interiors of ducts and vessels to explore lesions and masses and to assist in planning interventional procedures.

Smart Fusion syncs CT and ultrasound, helping to locate lesions and aiding in ultrasound-guided biopsies.

Additional features on the Aplio 500 include: tissue standard optimization, precision imaging, differential tissue harmonics, advanced dynamic flow and ApliPure+.
