Sprint, palmOne join to provide mobile healthcare solutions

Communications provider Sprint and palmOne Inc. reveal plans to develop mobile enterprise systems at targeted healthcare organizations.

Both companies plan to leverage the secure and high-speed data capabilities of the Sprint Nationwide PCS Network, the PCS Vision Smart device Treo 600 by palmOne and a portfolio of third party applications to provide systems that mobilize healthcare processes.

Initially, Sprint and palmOne's development efforts will focus on mobilizing patient records and providing access to critical patient information. This will enable caregivers to access, track and record patient information at the point of care and streamline business processes.
