St. Jude gains FDA approval on two ablation catheters

The FDA has approved St. Jude Medical’s two new irrigated ablation catheters - the Safire Blu bi-directional irrigated ablation catheter and the Therapy Cool Path bi-directional ablation catheter.

The Safire Blu and Therapy Cool Path irrigated ablation catheters feature a bi-directional deflection capability, which turns up to 180 degrees in both directions to allow physicians to position the tip of the catheter during ablation procedures, according to the St. Paul, Minn.-based company.
