Sunquest acquires Outreach Advantage solution from PAML

Sunquest Information Systems, a provider of diagnostic and laboratory information systems (LIS), has acquired the Outreach Advantage solution suite from Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML), a clinical reference laboratory in Spokane, Wash.

The Tucson, Ariz.-based company said it signed a definitive agreement on Dec. 18, 2008, to acquire the suite as part of its patient and physician affinity strategy to deliver outreach and laboratory connectivity solutions for the U.S. and international markets. The acquired solutions will enable customers to create business opportunities, and reduce the operational costs associated with facilitating better communications between hospitals, laboratories, physicians, communities and patients, Sunquest said.

Under terms of the agreement, Sunquest has granted PAML a license to use the Outreach Advantage suite for its current joint ventures and affiliates, as well as for future joint ventures. PAML will refer to the suite as “Joint Venture Advantage” to distinguish it from the commercially available “Sunquest Outreach Advantage.”

The Outreach Advantage suite provides customer relationship management tools, sales and marketing business intelligence, mobile courier management and connectivity tools for integrating with EMRs, LIS and other enterprise systems, the company said.
