TeraRecon showcases cardiac CT platform

CHICAGO—TeraRecon, a provider in advanced image-processing technology and 3D visualization solutions, released updates to its Aquarius iNtuition platform, at the 2008 American College of Cardiology (ACC) Scientific Sessions this week.

Aquarius iNtuition provides a suite of cardiac CT tools all through a thin-client interface called Aquarius iNtuition, which can be deployed and operated on any PC throughout the healthcare enterprise, TeraRecon said. The Aquarius iNtuition Client is powered by a central AquariusNET server that is capable of managing over 27,000 CT slices in a single server, with multiple-server configurations readily available, the company said.

TeraRecon said its automated preprocessing system, AquariusAPS, automatically identifies and labels cardiac anatomy, and then performs automatic segmentation and centerline extraction, to prepare the examination for the speediest diagnostic interpretation.
