TomTec debuts 2D cardiac performance package

TomTec launched its 2D Cardiac Performance Analysis package as part of its CardioArena multimodality imaging solution at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2008 in Munich, Germany, this week.

Quantitative assessment of displacement, velocity and strain in individual muscle segments are available as part of the 2D package, which could help in diagnosing pathologies like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or also dyssynchronous ventricles that might have to be treated by cardiac resynchronization therapy, according to the Munich-based company.

TomTec said its 2D Cardiac Performance Analysis is a speckle tracking analysis tool that can analyze 2D data from various vendor-neutral ultrasound machines.
