U-Systems adds Florida facility to breast ultrasound trial

Radiology Regional Breast Center in Fort Myers, Fla. has signed on to participate in the Somo-Insight Clinical Study by ultrasound system developer U-Systems.

The study is seeking to determine whether the somo-v automated breast ultrasound system (ABUS) from U-Systems, in combination with digital mammograph, is more effective in the detection of breast lesions in women with dense breasts when compared to mammography alone, said the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company.

The Southwest Florida center is now actively recruiting participants for the multi-site, national research study, said U-Systems.
