Ultrasonix introduces new ultrasound system

Ultrasonix Medical, a developer and manufacturer of diagnostic ultrasound imaging systems, has introduced its SonixTOUCH ultrasound imaging system.

SonixTOUCH is a portable diagnostic ultrasound system developed around the third-generation OpenSONIX platform, according to the Richmond, B.C.-based company. The system is touchscreen-driven, allowing for a reconfigurable user interface. 

SonixTOUCH provides imaging capabilities equivalent to systems and includes such imaging features as Pulse Inversion Harmonics, Transmit/Receive Spatial Compounding, Panoramic Imaging, Real-time 3D imaging and Elastography Imaging, Ultrasonix said.

The company said its SonixTOUCH features three active transducer ports, an optional 1.5-hour battery for mobile applications and 802.11b/g wireless connectivity.
