Winchester unveils mid-range tiered storage array

Winchester Systems Inc. is introducing the FlashDisk FC-3400 redundant storage system that supports both fibre Channel and serial ATA disk technology and is geared toward the mid-range storage environment.

FlashDisk FC-3400 supports single or dual redundant 64-bit RAID controllers for maximum data availability and protection. FlashDisk's high-performance and high capacity is well suited to database, OLTP, manufacturing, multimedia, financial, imaging, e-mail, and other disk intensive tasks, Winchester said. It is compatible with any server or operating system, with no requirement for host software drivers.

Included with every data storage system is the FlashConsole appliance, providing complete centralized management using any browser-based workstation on the LAN, Winchester said. FlashAlert, a 24-hour "call-home" remote monitoring and alert service is also included for one year.

The storage system is currently shipping, with a list price of $17,500.
