Witz named pres, CEO of GE medical diagnostics division

Most recently, Witz led GE's healthcare systems interventional global business, which researches and develops medical technologies for the diagnosis and early treatment of diseases.
Witz said that she wants to continue "advancing medicine through novel diagnostic agents," adding that the company is focused on diagnosing critical diseases, such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and heart failure.
Witz began her career as a research engineer in molecular biology, and held roles in marketing and engineering at Becton Dickinson Pharmaceutical Systems in Le Pont de Claix, France, according to the European Professional Women's Network, of which she is on the advisory board.
She joined GE Healthcare approximately 12 years ago as the global product manager for the neurovascular business, and has subsequently been vice president (VP) of sigma and quality, then VP IT and eBusiness for the European Medicines Agency (EMEA).
In 2002, she was became general manager of functional imaging at GE. Witz later became VP of sales and marketing Services for EMEA, and was promoted in 2006 as general manager of CT for EMEA.
