Women in Cardiology: Navigating and Negotiating Your Career Path
Sunday, April 5, 12:30-1:45 PM
The importance of having successful women in cardiology cannot be understated. For years, the proportion of women represented in clinical trials has been well below what it should have been. Part of the solution to that problem is having more women enter the medical field and advocating for equal representation.
We've come a long way, but the women in cardiology will tell you that the challenges continue. This lunch session should help elucidate those challenges and inspire—both men and women—to continue to recognize gender equality in terms of choosing a career as a cardiologist.
That career path can take several different paths, including private practice, academia, government and industry. Each path presents unique challenges for women. This lunch session should be a comfortable forum to discuss and learn the lessons of those who have navigated and negotiated their way to the top.
