ACR publishes program for leadership institute

The American College of Radiology’s (ACR) Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) has released the official program for the RLI inaugural event, to be held July 12-15, at the Kellogg School of Management on Northwestern University’s Evanston, Ill., campus.

The event features Kellogg faculty, radiology thought leaders and keynote speaker, Jeffrey R. Immelt, chairman and CEO of General Electric.

Faculty will examine topics such as creating a culture of leadership, organizational strategy, reputation management and service as a competitive advantage. Speakers will facilitate interactive discussions designed to provide attendees with skills and information that can be immediately applied to the radiology-business setting.

Nabil Al-Najjar, chair of the managerial economics and decision sciences department at Kellogg, will identify the difference between effective and ineffective decision making. Harry M. Jansen Kraemer, Jr., MBA, former chairman and CEO of Baxter International, will focus on values-based leadership, emphasizing opportunities for leadership at all organizational levels.

Other Kellogg faculty to present include: Lynn Cohn, JD, director of the program on negotiations and mediation at Northwestern Law School; Daniel Diermeier, PhD, IBM Professor of Regulation and Competitive Practice and professor of managerial economics and decision sciences; and Edward J. Zajac, PhD, the James F. Beré Chair in Management and Organizations and professor of health industry management.

Radiology leaders to present include: James H. Thrall, MD, radiologist-in-chief at Massachusetts General Hospital and professor of radiology at Harvard Medical School in Boston; Frank J. Lexa, MD, MBA, vice chairman and professor of radiology at the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia; and Arl Van Moore, JR, MD, chair of Strategic Radiology and president of Charlotte Radiology in Charlotte, N.C.
