APC unveils new Symmetra LX line of power supplies

American Power Conversion (APC) this week introduced an enhanced line of its Symmetra Power Array scalable and redundant UPS (uninterruptible power supply).

The new modular Symmetra LX family offers five models ranging in size from 4kVA to 16kVA N+1 redundant. The tower and rack-mountable models provide power protection for network critical physical infrastructure in multiple applications including computer rooms containing critical information technology (IT) and telecommunications equipment.

According to APC, the Symmetra LX family can provide backup power protection for healthcare IT applications such as MRIs, picture archiving and communication systems, voice over internet protocol (VoIP), blood analyzers and medical lab equipment.

APC's Symmetra LX rack-mounted models are tested and certified for use with the company's InfraStruXure architecture. The Symmetra LX line is offered in a small cabinet footprint and is capable of converting between rack-mountable and tower for factors as needs change.
