Covidien

Covidien (Booth 9113) is featuring its updated Optistar Elite injector with its unit-dose Ultraject prefilled contrast media syringes to help reduce the risk of certain medication-dispensing and mislabeling errors that may occur when syringes are manually filled from multi-dose packaging.

The injector provides several new features, some of which, when combined with Covidien’s Ultraject prefilled syringes, also are designed to help reduce the potential of certain medication errors. The Patency Check features on the Optistar Elite injector is programmed to deliver a 10 mL saline injection while the clinician examines the patient's injection site for potential extravasation—prior to the injection of contrast media-related drugs.
