DICOM Standards Committee celebrates its inaugural advanced seminar
What's new and exciting in DICOM? The question will be answered in Baltimore, Md., as the DICOM Standards Committee hosts its first-ever DICOM anniversary conference Sept. 22-23.
Meeting-goers will assemble at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel for the two-day event. The presentations will address how to control recently issued features of the DICOM standard, preparing for the impending features of the new standard and experiences in developing, deploying or using DICOM applications.
Kicking off the event is Col. Michael R. Marohn, associate professor and vice chair of the department of surgery at Uniformed Services in Bethesda, Md.; Reuben Mezrich, M.D., chair of the department of diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine; and Neil de Crescenzo, healthcare industry leader, global and Americas for IBM Business Consulting Services in San Francisco. All will headline the workshop on the future of DICOM.
Additionally, Katherine P. Andriole, M.D., associate professor of radiology at the University of California-San Francisco, will provide a report on the Society of Computer Applications in Radiology's (SCAR) recent initiative "Transforming the Radiological Interpretation Process (TRIP).
