FDA clears Astro-Med neuro-monitoring software

Grass Technologies Product Group, an Astro-Med company, has received FDA clearance to sell its Neurotrac III Neuromonitoring software system.

The West Warwick, R.I.-based Astro-Med said its Grass Neurotrac III software now has 510(k) clearance for the intended use of recording an electroencephalogram (EEG) and computing EEG trends over time, so that healthcare professionals can observe long-term changes.

The company said it will now begin to sell this existing product for new applications in continuous EEG monitoring.
