FDA green-lights Toshibas dose-reduction technology

AIDR 3D is Toshiba’s third-generation iterative dose reconstruction software that reduces radiation dose compared with conventional scanning. It comprises an algorithm designed to work in both the raw data and image data space, Tustin, Calif.-based Toshiba said.
The company will offer the AIDR 3D software upgrade and related training, complimentary, to all existing Aquilion One, Aquilion Premium and Aquilion Prime CT customers.
AIDR 3D can be integrated with SureExposure 3D, a software that seeks to calculate the minimum radiation exposure required. SureExposure 3D adjusts the dose for each patient based on a pre-set, targeted level of image quality.
