Heartlab passes connectivity testing at 2005 Connectathon

The annual IHE Connectathon, held in January this year, featured 102 products from 43 different vendors in a testing event designed to foster communication among computer systems in healthcare.

The Encompass Cardiac Network from Heartlab, Inc. in Westerly, R.I., successfully passed rigorous interoperability tests for their systems with those of other vendors by connecting to a common network and running simulations of various transactions.  The IHE Technical Framework for Cardiology was released for trial implementation in July of last year, and was utilized for the first time at this year's Connectathon.

Heartlab performed all transactions required for the Cardiac Cath workflow, Echo Workflow and Retrieve ECG for display profiles.
