MedImage adds volume registration tool

MedImage Inc. this week released MedView, a new volume registration tool for DELTAmanager. MedView allows users to register studies of the same modality or different modalities including nuclear medicine and PET (DICOM and legacy), CT and MRI.

According to MedImage, MedView volume registration is a powerful tool for comparing pre- and post-therapy images and provides clinicians with a fast, efficient way of detecting tumor change. A PET study combined with a MR or CT also aids in distinction of viable tumors and provides medical management.

Volume registration is an optional feature and is available now in MedView v11 for both Windows and MacOS X.

The nuclear imaging isotope shortage of molybdenum-99 may be over now that the sidelined reactor is restarting. ASNC's president says PET and new SPECT technologies helped cardiac imaging labs better weather the storm.

CMS has more than doubled the CCTA payment rate from $175 to $357.13. The move, expected to have a significant impact on the utilization of cardiac CT, received immediate praise from imaging specialists.

The newly cleared offering, AutoChamber, was designed with opportunistic screening in mind. It can evaluate many different kinds of CT images, including those originally gathered to screen patients for lung cancer.
