Medison to license Volumetrics' 3D ultrasound technology

Diagnostic ultrasound manufacturer Medison and Durham, N.C.-based 3D imaging company Volumetrics Medical Imaging, founded by Duke University, have signed a technology license agreement for the manufacturing and selling of Volumetrics’ patents by Medison.

The patents, which enable real-time 3D medical ultrasound images for diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions and for monitoring fetal development before birth, will now be incorporated into Medison products, said the Seoul, Korea-based company.
