Meditech, Zynx Health integrate technologies

With the intent to improve patient safety, clinical information systems and CPOE provider Medical Information Technology Inc. (Meditech) and Zynx Health Inc., a subsidiary of The Hearst Corp., have signed an agreement to integrate Zynx Health clinical evidence with Meditech clinical applications.

Under the agreement, Meditech will integrate Zynx's Executable Knowledge Manager (EKM) into Meditech's CPOE and EMR systems.

Meditech's CPOE automates the clinical care process by effectively managing patient allergy, drug dosing and interaction information. Zynx Health's EKM is a software and database system that contains standardized treatment protocols and the clinical evidence upon which the protocols are established.

As hospitals move to CPOE, Zynx Health's evidence-based knowledge will provide clinicians with order sets, alerts and treatment plans based on best practices.
