MRS targets paperless mammography workflow
Mammography Reporting System (MRS) introduced three new programs designed for paperless mammography workflow at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) meeting in Chicago.
The first program is a paperless patient history called Quest, which allows patients can enter all of their own patient history directly into the system. That information is then downloaded into MRS and made available throughout the practice on any MRS workstation. “Since the previous history is stored in the MRS, it populates directly into the Quest electronic tablet, so a patient simply has to note the changes from the last appointment,” according to the Seattle-based company. The software comes with a Spanish language option and can handle French, German or Italian.
MRS highlighted a second paperless program, the SMaRT Scheduling Matrix. The Scheduling Matrix and Resource Tracking puts every person, place and thing in a practice onto the matrix to ensure that every resource is available for each scheduled procedure. For MRS users, there is no data entry, since every patient in MRS is automatically listed in SMaRT.
The final piece in MRS’ paperless mammography system is Secured Access, which emails patient result letters with a triple secure system, which MRS said saves the paper and postage of standard mail letters, and keeps a practice protected if a patient does not view the letter online. If the online letter is unopened in the time frame specified, the letter is automatically sent back to the MRS print queue where it is ready to print and mail, according the company.
