New 3D ECG system debuts in EU

Verathon has introduced its Heartscape 3D ECG system with an 80-lead vest in Europe.

The device, according to a statement from the Bothell, Wash.-based company, features a two-part vest system containing 80 leads and a touchscreen color monitor that displays the Heartscape exam. It provides 58 anterior leads, 12 lateral leads and 10 posterior leads. Thus, the Heartscape applications include standard ECGs and non-diagnostic 12-lead ECGs, such as anterior MIs, posterior MIs, inferior MIs and more lateral MIs.
