NewCardio 3D ECG platform nets possible patent

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTA) has granted a notice of allowance to cardiac diagnostic technology provider NewCardio for its urgent care solution Cardio3KG.

Cardio3KG uses algorithms to assess electrical activity in the heart to extract 3D information from 12-lead ECG signals to pinpoint disease and chronic conditions.

According to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based company, use of Cardio3KG will enable a more rapid diagnosis of acute coronary syndromes as patients arrive at the emergency department.

If issued, the patent will be the second for products on NewCardio’s 3D ECG technology platform.
