Portable CT clears FDA

NeuroLogica has received FDA 510(k) clearance for BodyTom, a portable, full body, multi-slice CT scanner.

The BodyTom is a full-body, 32-slice CT with an 85cm gantry and 60cm field of view, according to Danvers, Mass.-based NeuroLogica. The battery-powered, DICOM 3.1-compliant scanner can be transported from room to room and provide CT capabilities in the clinic, ICU, OR and emergency/trauma department, the company added.
