RSNA: Philips highlights advances across imaging portfolio
Philips Healthcare touted low dose CT imaging, a new IT platform to support clinical collaboration and ultrasound developments at the 96th annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), held in Chicago Nov. 28 to Dec. 3.
Philips Ingenuity CT incorporates iDose4, an iterative reconstruction technique that provides equivalent diagnostic image quality at up to 80 percent less dose; improves spatial resolution by up to 35 percent with up to 50 percent less dose; or improves spatial resolution by up to 68 percent, according to the company. The platform is available as a standalone or hybrid imaging system via the Ingenuity CT scanner and the Ingenuity TF PET/CT system.
Ingenuity CT also features SyncRight, a tool designed for communications between the scanner and the injector. According to Philips, SyncRight allows for up to 15 percent reduction in injected contrast per patient for visualization of vascular structures.
Designed to conduct studies in oncology imaging, cardiac perfusion and diagnostic CT, Philips Ingenuity TF PET/CT includes Time-of-Flight (TOF) and features Astonish TF, which is combined with 4D TOF capabilities.
Philips IntelliSpace Portal multimodality workspace leverages networking capabilities to facilitate collaboration between radiologists and referring clinicians. IntelliSpace Portal turns a PC into a multimodality imaging system workspace and offers clinicians the ability to view images anywhere, from multiple imaging modalities. The workstation offers Collaborator, a medical networking platform that allows radiologists, referring physicians and specialists to share images and data and discuss the cases through an instant message feature. The system’s thin-client architecture makes CT, MRI and nuclear medicine image data and applications available anywhere they are needed. Additionally, the IntelliSpace Portal offers a Multimodality Tumor Tracking application that brings together patient exams from different modalities over the course of discovery, diagnosis, staging and treatment as well as providing tumor segmentation of lesions across time points and reports on the growth and functional changes of individual lesions in the form of standards (RECIST, PRECIST).
iU22 xMATRIX Ultrasound allows clinicians to create two full-resolution images simultaneously, capturing twice as much clinical information in the same amount of time without moving, turning or rotating the transducer. Clinical trials have shown that the system speeds workflow, according to Philips.
