Siemens sole source of imaging equipment for Fairview

Siemens Medical Solutions has inked a five-year agreement with Fairview-University Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn., the largest of seven hospitals owned by Fairview Health Services, to be its sole provider of imaging technology.

The alliance will allow physicians at Fairview-University Medical Center access to advanced imaging systems from Siemens including MR, CT, angiography, PET/CT, and ultrasound equipment. One of the first systems to be installed will be the biograph 16 PET/CT, Siemens said.

In addition, Siemens will collaborate with the staff on education programs focused on individual imaging modalities. Siemens and Fairview-University Medical Center also are in discussions to develop a service agreement to cover all of the imaging equipment at the facility, Siemens said.
