vRad CMO takes on two roles with ACR

The American College of Radiology (ACR) has tapped Benjamin Strong, MD, chief medical officer of the teleradiology practice vRad, to serve on an emergency-radiology committee and to share his emergency expertise in an ongoing educational program.

As a member of ACR’s 16-member committee on emergency radiology in general, small and rural practice, Strong will help shape ACR positions and policies on coverage, quality and safety, and practice parameters.

As a clinical lecturer in trauma and emergency radiology for ACR’s American Institute for Radiologic Pathology (AIRP), he will help train member residents, fellows and practicing radiologists around the world.

vRad announced the appointments Oct. 18.

“Teleradiology has always played, and will continue to play, a critical role in the emergency care setting, and it is encouraging to see the ACR expanding committee members to now include the largest national teleradiology group as part of the discussion,” Strong says in a press release.
