BC Technical acquires Polaris Medical Imaging

BC Technical, a provider of used and refurbished radiological and molecular imaging equipment, has announced the West Jordan-based company’s acquisition of Polaris Medical Imaging, seller, servicer and installer of specifically GE MRI and CT scanners. BC also works in SPECT/CT, PET, PET/CT and other nuclear medicine systems.

"We are committed to driving higher quality, lower cost service," said Mark Alvarez, president and CEO of BC Technical in a press release. "We set out to become the only true alternative to the [original equipment manufacturer], and that's exactly what we've done. We have no plans to slow down."

Polaris, based in Houston, Texas, was established eight years ago. Former Polaris partner Rob Maley commented, "We were at a point of growth that required additional resources and we knew BC Technical was the perfect springboard to take Polaris to the next level."

Polaris’ field engineers will work under the BC Technical umbrella and continue to offer imaging site planning, installation and service of used imaging equipment.
