Lantheus nabs Novation distribution contract

Lantheus Medical Imaging has signed a contract with Novation for Ablavar (gadofosveset trisodium) and Definity vial for (Perflutren Lipid Microsphere) injectable suspension.

Novation, a healthcare supply contracting company has more than 25,000 members of VHA and the University HealthSystem Consortium, two healthcare alliances, and 5,500 members of Provista, representing 28,000 sites.

Ablavar allows physicians to detect vascular disease using MR angiography, according to the North Billerica, Mass.-based Lantheus. Definity is used to in patients with suboptimal echocardiograms.
