MICAD adds 9 new agents

The Molecular Imaging and Contrast Agent Database (MICAD), developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information at the National Institutes of Health, has uploaded nine new agents to its database.

MICAD currently lists 814 agents and searches can be performed based on the method of detection, sources of signal, agent category, target category and text words.

The SPECT agents added are:
  • [123/131I]IV-14, which targets uridine-cytidine kinase 2 and human equilibrating nucleoside transporter 1
  • 99mTc-SBz-MAG3-Gl , 99mTc-SBz-MAG3-NG and 99mTc-SBz-MAG3-Ga which all target lectins

The PET agent is:
  • 89Zr-N-SucDf-cMAb U36 which targets CD44v6

The MRI agents are:
  • 13C-Bicarbonate which targets carbonic anhydrase
  • [1,4-13C2]Fumarate  which targets fumarase

The optical agents are:
  • ICG-CPNP which targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2
  • Cy5.5-MMP-C6 which targets gelatinases

The MICAD guest author program also invited members of the imaging community to contribute to the MICAD database by writing and submitting chapters on agents of their interest for online publication.
