MIT develops nanoparticles to enable MRI, fluorescent imaging

Chemists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have developed nanoparticles that could eventually help track disease progression.

The particles have distinct sensors for fluorescence and MRI. For example, the researchers have shown that high concentrations of vitamin C result in a strong fluorescent signal, while a stronger MRI signal is visible with lower amounts of vitamin C.
