Molecular Imaging Corp. and Siemens Medical Solutions have signed a five-year strategic alliance to purchase molecular imaging equipment from Siemens.

Siemens also will provide sales and marketing support to the San Diego-based company, as well as equipment and project financing. Both companies will collaborate and exchange information on prospective medical service providers.

"We feel confident that this new relationship, which combines Siemens' technology and capital resources with the development and operational capabilities of Molecular Imaging Corp., creates a synergistic approach to meet the needs to new and existing customers," said Paul Crowe, Molecular Imaging's president and CEO.
