NOPR: All NaF agreements must be updated
The American College of Radiology and the Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance are prompting all participants of the bone-imaging portion of the National Oncologic PET Registry (NOPR) to sign new agreements by Sept. 22.
F-18 sodium fluoride (NaF) imaging of metastatic bone disease is still on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service agenda. The American College of Radiology continues to administer the national registry with support from the World Molecular Imaging Society and Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
Registered institutions documenting bone scanning data should contact their NOPR project manager with the American College of Radiology to update Business Associate Agreements under the Omnibus Rule and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). These agreements have recently been revised by the American College of Radiology and require special attention.
