Positron sells six Attrius PET scanners
Positron has sold four Attrius PET scanners to cardiology practices, which ordered six scanners from its joint venture, Neusoft Positron Medical Systems for immediate delivery.
The Indianapolis-based company attributed the increase in demand for its cardiac PET systems to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) 2010 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, whereby reimbursement for cardiac PET increased and reimbursement for SPECT decreased, even though some of those reimbursements cuts have now been reversed.
