Translational imaging facility could ease radiopharmaceutical development

A partnership between MPI Research, 3D Imaging and inviCRO has led to a new translational imaging center complete with on-site cyclotron that recently broke ground in Mattawan, Mich. The institution is scheduled to open this spring, according to the Feb. 5 announcement from MPI.

The center reportedly will be outfitted for not only molecular imaging, but autoradiography and cutting-edge image analytics. The purpose of the institution is to have the capability of translating data from the preclinical to the clinical stage all in one place.

If completed by construction targets in spring 2014, the 10,000-square-foot and two-story facility will house a vivarium and the tools necessary for late-stage pharmaceutical development.
