Brain scans show it’s possible to train yourself away from junk food

When lunchtime hits, are you more tempted by fried foods than a fresh salad? Researchers at Tufts University have shown it may be possible to train your brain to think healthy foods taste better than unhealthy ones.

A small group of people in a weight-loss program designed to change reactions to certain foods were compared against a control group, with both undergoing MRI scans before the program began and then again at six months. Results showed those in the weight-loss program demonstrated changes in the brain’s reward center. Read more about the study on Philly.com at the link below:
